28/9/10 catch up gallery and party. and dreded free for arts

so yet again been a lil to busy to blog =/ which is no excuse just a pain in the bum realy cause then everything is pretty brief n so on.

So oldham galery, im learnign how to create the labels for displays and i will be helping to curate an exhibition of which 3 of the artists i know its called art@16, and it features the art work of all oldham schools finiest young artists. The work sent is just unbelievable n the youngstes tallent is just inspiring.
In a way im envious that the oppertunity to display work started a year after i left my school which is involved with the exhibition.
An oppertunity such as this to be given to artists at that age is just a massive oppertunity.

I recently visited the stores at oldham gallery which took a wopping 1hour and 30 mins to view all the store rooms and see the collections. It was remarkable, quite simply the best art experience of my life so far.
I was taken around the fine art stall and viewed paintings that were beign sent all around the world, one was on its way to tokyo. I was reading the back of a canvas which i can only gestimate teh size to be as big as an elephant which was valued to be almost a million.
Thinking to myslef if this fell on me i wonder who would be saved first me or the painting.
Most likly the painting no doubt haha.

I was taken to a numerous amount of buildings climbingup and down stairs into basements into hidden rooms that were situatied right next to an office whcih at first glimps looked more liek a cupboard door than a door that led into a room the size of my university studio andthe 3d room ontop.

I was shown the history of oldham in potcards, letters, bomb shelters, radios, fire places, chimney sweeps, sowing machines, washing machineas, mangels, i could go on and on. my favorite part was the dressing room.
a whole section of the room was filled with roughly 25 wardrobes, each wardbrobe contaned clothes from a period of time, i got to feel the pure silk of a mourning gown from when quenn victoria was on the throan, the touch was just so pure and every beaded detail was just so perfect, it was breathtaking.
This is when i realised just how much i was in love with periodic fashion, when each wardrobe opened it was like the inner child was just screaming and dancing around in excitment.

I sadly had to leave the room behind i could of spent hours in that room.

we were shown the colections of stuffed animals which was very creepy indeed, was informed that some of the collection had to be binned sadly due to an infestation of moths who munched away at the colection.

I was then led into the basement of the old museum which is now a dance studio, walking down the steps it was liek i had travelled back in time, a whole victorian street had just appeared infront of my eyes, cobbles, painted signs, the works.
the place had a very unusual sence to me likei had been there before, it was like i had sen the set out before somewere, i may have visited as a child i cant recall.
Scary part was the wax dummies, i walked into the model bar area to nosey at what was inside, and looked around to see a dummie i jumped n ran out to lisa who is also volenteering with me, i now feel as though im not making a very brave impression as in the room with all the stuffed animals i had to run to lisa when i turned round to see a bunch of life like fish stairing me in the face.
haha

I go back in tomorrow at 10:30 im not to sure as to what im doing but i shall soon find out.
who knew how amazing gallery work can be =D.

in uni at the momant we have presented our summer prijects and we are now on the party.

our theme is a party with no guests.....
oki
so
hmm
we thought n thought some more n decided right we can have a room filled with manicins, empty bottles crisp packets ect, and cligfilm the door shut, while we wear t shirts saying gatecrashers n we raid everyone elses beer food n ect. =]
mu hahaha try to stop up interactive arts hehe. >.<

i feel the first years should speak up a little more, at the momant it seems to be only 2 1st years who are brave enough to dish out some ideas, n the others are dishing them out not very fast. and when we do ask fo rsome feedback there saying yeah sure sure.
its most liely cause there nervous n stuff, and we are a lil scary.

free for arts

sighhh.......

well, all i can say is that i am in no way motivated or enthused at all about this ehibition no longer.
The unorganised caotic mess that is free for arts has prved to be a complete waste of energy thus is why i have given up.
I have had my say, i have been told that all information was needed from em, then sent texts emails ect asking for more information. and the sillyest of all i get a text off lozzy " hi adi can you please send me you email address just helen wants to know your email address for the leaflets."
.... i have been sending and reciveing emails off hellen for months now, im pretty sure she has my email address by now.
that was a bit of a silly question if i must say so myself. there might be some logical explanation behind this but for now im still confused.

exhition goes up on the thursday at 9 got acces summit at 11:30 so by the time i wil be finished i bet the uni party will be over ¬_¬....
DAM IT!!!!!!!!!
