after the cross course crit yesterday i met up with an old friend from school and took some studio photographs of her.
I tryed to cover standing poses seated poses lyeing kneeling and portrait poses, i added props for her to interact with which was the studio lighting and also a giant lilly that was already inside of the studio.
i angled my shots at one point i was lyeing on the floor and even stood on a stool.
I had a 1 and a half hour shoot and covered all areas of poses i needed to for this shoot.
when i was takeing the photographs and telling sarah what the pose like and were to look it was interesting to see how addictive takeing photographs were, you would take one photograph and she would move her hand slightly maybe to itch her arm or something and i would stop her and say no that looked a good pose. i found myself takeing photographs even when she was just possitioning herself and catching her balance.
after uploading the photographs online i have been asked to o another baby shoot and have also been asked by sarahs twin sister to take some more photographs of her as well but with a theme of zombies as she does makeup fx at college.

cross course crit
well yesterdays cross course crit i found to be unhelpfull and the feedback i got was alright n some was plain insulting.
i was told off 3 third years not to concentrate on my carrer so doing my photography portfolio would only wind me away from my practice, and that i shouldnt be concentrating on my career at all yet.
i found this statement a joke, and have been told by people ive chatted about this to that there probly sucking on sour grapes because its the sillyest thing to hear studying a uiversity course that is there to further your carrer.
i wll admit that i am a bit all over the place with my practicle work n there addvice on not to over think things was helpful, but a comment i recieved off yet another 3rd year on my feedback sheet read just do... whatever you want...
when i talked about my photography portfolio building and told them how i have been asked to do wedding photography they looked at me blankly like they were waiting for a punch line to a joke, then i recieve a comment off a first year on my feedbacksheet with the words wedding photography is boreing.
this ocmeing off someone who told us when it came to his course that he is only on the course as a backup because he wants to be a musician, i know a number of ppl who would of given there left arm to be on our course and hes just n it cause he feels he has to...

your fucking perfect to me! raise your glass if you are wrong in al the right ways
so today we had another table top exhibition, i showed my happy project and ,my paper work project. Kay asked me if i thought about colaborating the tow together, i mentioned that my happy project i enjoyed the post a secret aspect of it.
The fact that these horrible things thoughts or experiences are sent to frank warren (post a secret boss) and when reading them you think to yourself that some of the postcards you can relate to.
I find myslef that when im angry frustrated or in need of getting something off my chest i write it down or i cant sleep and i then i tear it up and bin it.
So i have this idea that links to the paper project, i could write my bad experiences and clend them into perfect nice clean slates of paper.
the idea also came from the pink song you are perfect.
Ive listened to pink since she brought out party started in the uk, i own all her albums and listening to her music i can relate to her lyrics and as a child whos brought up in a slightly disfunctional family her music was an escape made me feel less alone. then growing up and the asshole ex-boyfriends ruleing your life, you look back and scream at yourself for being such a dick.
so im going to write im going to argue im going to confront remember, question every bad experience that still haunts me and im going to place the notes in the blender and im going to create something beautiful out of something thats filled with shit memories/experiences.
It will be my own personal fuck you to those who have hurt me.
its a very personal project, its a dark project but the exterior of the paper objects created will look lovely and will be a metaphor to how on the inside ive got bad experiences bursting at the seems ready to crack.

My name is Adrianne Brookes, i am emailing you to nominate L.S.Lowry for a blue plaque, i am aware there is a Red Plaque at his home in salford but from finding a news report online i think that a plaque outside of my university would be more respected and celebrated.
I have based a university project on a plaque dedicated to Lowery i created my own replica plaque that was placed in the building he studyed in as a part of a university site specific project. It was placed in the Grosvenor building in manchester metrapoliton university for only the afternoon but got lots of interest from the students and tutors.
My tutor has asked me to see if it is possible to get an officaial blue plaque dedicated to L.S.Lowry and placed on the building. He to was suprised that no such plaque existed for someone who has achieved a fantastic reputation as an artist and studyed inside the walls of our university.
There is a Plaque outsie dedicated to Adolf Vallete, L.S.Lowery was taught by the french impressionist painter for 10 years according to readings and articles i have found on the subject.
There is no recolection of L.S.Lowry at all in the university, and i have quized a number of students staff and tutors about him attending the school of art which is now Manchester Metrapoliton University, and each have said that they have never heard of it before.
I think it would be a great honour if he had a blue plaque dedicated to his life and work in a place surrounded by student following in his footsteps to further there carrer in art and design. A plaque in dedication would be great for the students as it shows the sucess of the univesity and will give the students as well as myself somebody to look up to.
I hope you will consider my nomination and agree that such a sucess of the university should be rewarded and honoured.
