Shadow project

A ful description of the project so far.

my project kicked started when we payed a trip to the recorders exibition. Me and bex were playing about minipulating our shadows, the piece was aimed at recording you laying it back to you on a screen that covered the wall of the gallery.
From these 2 photos taken for a laugh i was inspired.

I experimented with creating shilloettes, useing the old method of sitting the subject down and shineing a light on them.
very blinding process but thanks to some wonderful friends the pieces were beautiful.
i started to experiment and have fun with my work getting the subject to stick there tounges out or pose with objects such as bottles.
I experiemented with painting also the piece i was pleased with as i am not the best of painters.

We went on a day trip to liverpool to see the bienial.
i walked behind my frineds when we went into the basement to view the video work. i found myself takeing photos of them the lighting was perfect and themselves became shilloettes.

I later edited the photos and created a very dramatic image, which jon then asked me to annimate.

the annimation i found difficult i have never animated a still image before and i have no idea how to either. i created 72 differnt images editing the origional in a sligt way being shape coulour or duplicating the image and with some guidence compacted the images into a 4 second animation.

from this jon asked me to create more vidio work. so i experimented with creteing a soid block of light for someone to stand infront of so i can capture there shiloettes.

after a lot of fiddling about with material i found that the best thing to do was to hang soe white material against the door frame in the dark room.
i then asked my friend liz if she could perform her berlesk acts as they are suggestive just ike a shadow is a suggestion of a person. also the objects used extended her shadow and changed her shape. i filmed the video in portrait as i very rarely see vidios in portrait and just liek ym photography i find it almost a trademark of m work. we see in landscape we have a a 180 degree vision but when it comes to seeing something from top to bottom we have to be at a great distance.

the video is on youtube.

here is the link for yout o view
suggestive youtube clip

this is as far as i have got so far in this project, i am takeing a little break so i can go back to the project refreshed.

i have an idea of what i want to do which is to have television screens and have frieds to sit as still as possible for an extended period of time and to slowly move into a different possiton with the bakground to be vibrant colours. to wich they shall be viewed just like in the performance at shrink in the A.N.D festival.
