Oldham gallery volenteering

So this year i have to go out and make connections, exhibit my work or get more envolved in the art scene.
So i have decided to make a smart move.
seen as i decided the stress of free for arts was just to much to bare, i decided to stand down and just display my work and help out when the occasion asks for it.
I felt a little regretful of the decision as i have never given anything up before and usualy se things through to the very end.
so i decided to step up my game a little, make myslef feel a bit betetr for the opertunity i threw away.
I applyed for volentary work.
I applyed for volentary work at Oldham Gallery.
I have had 2 meeting so far and have a very possitive excited feeling about this.
With it being a small but still major gallery i thought were better to apply than there.
I had a meeting with Joy Thorp who is the education manager at the gallery, we discussed oppertunities for me to help out and to get involved with.
I have had two meeting now and i am super excited to start.
I get to help curate the exhibitions, shaperone one of the biggest school links programs work with local artists helping to teach classes, some fo the artists i have researched in my collage years, and with my certificate in printmakeing i have been highly recomnded to help out in the printmakeing classes.
Also i get to read through artists proposals and select artists whos work would be displayed in future exhibition.
I have enquiered about how i can display work myself, and have had a meeting with a textile artist who has shown me work for a exhibition that wil be takeing place soon which features one of MMU'S textile tutors and graduate students work, and input into organising the exhibition.

I will shortly recieve an email about dates to work, and have been told that volenteering at this time in the year is a "very smart" move by all 3 oldham gallery staff in the meeting and Lisa who will be volenteering along side me who graduated 4 years ago.

I am extremly please with myself for what i have achieved so far and useing my common sence to beat the rush when it come to the time when we are suppost to be finding that placement or makeing our mark on the art world creatign new conections and networking.

:D smiles all round
